IBD Poll: Obama’s Independent Woes Intensify

 January’s IBD/TIPP Presidential Leadership Index fell 3.6% to 50.8 — barely holding above the neutral 50 level and 20 points below Obama’s level when he took office. High unemployment, an unpopular health care plan and security fears are all taking their toll.

Independents led with a 6.5% decline — 21% since September — to 44.3, a new low for Obama.

The bad news for Obama and other Democratic politicians gets worse: The number of independents is growing
