CLIMATE scientists yesterday stunned Britons suffering the coldest winter for 30 years by claiming last month was the hottest January the world has ever seen.

The remarkable claim, based on global satellite data, follows Arctic temperatures that brought snow, ice and travel chaos to millions in the UK.

At the height of the big freeze, the entire country was blanketed in snow. But Australian weather expert Professor Neville Nicholls, of Monash University in Melbourne, said yesterday: “January, according to satellite data, was the hottest January we’ve ever seen

  1. I think Nicholl’s satellite is broken. That, or he’s a blooming idiot.

  2. Doesn’t fit with your ideas, so he must be stupid. Besides, as an aussie, he’d be a blooming onion (now who’s an idiot?)
Maybe your satellite is broken. My scientists say this, yours say that. The only difference is that if mine are wrong, we are left with a cleaner, healthier atmosphere and a freedom from fossil fuels and foreign dependancy for them.
On the other hand, if yours are wrong, your kids and/or grandkids get to go to disney world underwater.

    • So when did visual observation not be taken as fact, especially when the following report stated scientists were trying to find out why it had NOT been warm this year? Nicholls said it was the warmest January ever. Don’t know about where you’re at, but I’ve had several feet of that global warming in January. And from other reports (including the article) the UK suffered record snow. So where’s that global warming that Nicholls is talking about?

If you’re still buying global warming, then you’re not in the minority. Even the UN is backing off of the concept, especially after what happened at Cophenhagen. The UK is making Al Gore’s books not part of any school program. Some are even considering taking away his Nobel, and others are considering legal contests.

Sorry friend, the the house of cards is falling apart and the concensus has now been shattered.

  3. I suppose that would depend on where you get your news. Snowfall amounts have nothing to do with temps as long as it is below 32F… In fact, climate change research states plainly, and always has, that the small increases in temps will result in higher precipitation rates, so when it’s cold, I suppose that that precip will fall as snow.
who said anything about gore? He’s a politician, not a scientist. He probably knows as much about climate change as you do.

    • You mean all those scientists with the emails which stated the real stats should be hidden? Oh it’s that ole concensus thing, right?

  5. Look man, I’m just messin’ with ya. I don’t really have a strong opinion on the matter.
